Common off-road diesel questions
What is off-road (dyed) diesel?
Off-road diesel is standard ultra-low-sulfur diesel dyed red to mark it as tax-exempt fuel for equipment that is not driven on public roads — tractors, construction machinery, generators, and the like. It is chemically the same as clear highway diesel; the dye simply signals that road taxes have not been paid.
Why is off-road diesel cheaper?
Dyed diesel is exempt from federal and state highway fuel taxes because it is used off-road, which lowers your per-gallon cost. Using it in on-road vehicles is illegal and heavily penalized.
Do you deliver off-road diesel to farms and job sites?
Yes. We deliver dyed diesel by bulk tank fill to farms, construction sites, and rural locations across southeast Nebraska and north central Kansas, and we can provide on-site storage tanks.
Can you keep diesel from gelling in winter?
Yes. We supply winter-blended and treated off-road diesel through the cold months to help prevent gelling and keep your equipment starting.
